In November 2012, the City of Turin hosted a ULI Workshop on the subject of business-friendly cities. The agenda was carefully designed to encourage discussion between senior business and city leaders on the question of what makes a city business-friendly, and what concrete steps cities can take to deliver an attractive business environment.

The report summarises the key contributions made by the workshop speakers and captures the main elements of the discussion. It aims to provide greater conceptual clarity on the subject matter and to illustrate business-friendly practices by reviewing real-world examples in the participating cities.
