Chris Igwe Appointed as Co-chair of the ULI Europe Retail and Entertainment Council
November 15, 2017
Chris Igwe, founder of retail advisory firm Chris Igwe International, has been appointed as the new co-chair of the ULI Europe Retail and Entertainment Council. In this new role, Igwe hopes to explore opportunities for growth in retail and ways to improve the consumer experience.
“We are living in, and experiencing, unprecedented times in retail and real estate,” said Igwe. “There are so many variables to take into account in our businesses today. Through ULI and the Retail and Entertainment Council, my intention is that we identify and focus on those areas that will have the greatest positive impact to drive growth in the retail industry and also enhance the lives of end consumer.”
Prior to founding Chris Igwe International, Igwe was at CBRE for eight years, where he served as head of retail, France and senior director, EMEA. He has also served as the managing director in Europe for ICSC and European director of real estate for Foot Locker and the Gap. He has been a member of ULI for over 10 years.
Igwe will lead the council alongside Marije Braam-Mesken, Portfolio Manager at CBRE, who became co-chair of the council in 2015.
“With his passion for retail and years of experience in the sector, Chris is the perfect choice for this position,” said Braam-Mesken. “His sharp insights and expertise in successful retail brands have contributed to the council’s success over the past few years. I look forward to working with him as we shape the council’s programme of work.”
