Famous as the home of the Volkswagen in Germany, this special edition meeting will take members for an inside look at the long term development of Wolfsburg and the projects it has lined up for the future. Wolfsburg has been undergoing a major re-development for over a decade and we will be visiting some of its main attractions including the Autostadt, Phaeno Science Centre and Allerpark. The Sustainability Council will be taking a trip to Amsterdam in September, going on site tours of some of the most innovative and sustainable projects in Europe including The Edge, the OVG developed building billed as the world’s most sustainable office building by BREEAM. More details to follow.

Today more and more retail locations are finding that to stay attractive and competitive they need to include more leisure and entertainment to their tenant mix. The Retail and Entertainment Council will be convening at MAPIC this year and will see the launch of a piece of research Does leisure in shopping centres really add up? This report will build on ULI’s “Eat, Drink, Dwell” infoburst and will explore what is the added value of leisure and entertainment for retail locations. Along with speakers and panel discussions, there will be plenty of time to network and discuss the findings of the report and the implications this has for the future of retail.
