    Alberto Garaizabal

    Alberto Nin Garaizabal is a Managing Director in Brookfield’s Real Estate Group. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing and executing investments across Southern Europe. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2016, Mr. Nin had worked at H.I.G. Capital as part of its distressed and real estate investment team in Madrid. Previously he worked for UBS Investment Bank, where he focused on M&A, equity and debt transactions across several sectors, asset classes and jurisdictions.

    Gonzalo Criado del Rey

    Colliers

    In 2017 Gonzalo joined Colliers as Director of the Hotel Team. Previously he had developed his professional career at Irea´s hotel team for nine years. Gonzalo has a financial background which allows him to provide advisory services to Hotel and Real Estate companies in transactions (sell-side & buy-side), financial restructuring, search for financing, valuation of NPL´s portfolios, design of strategic plans to Hotel and Real Estate companies, hotel operator search and contract negotiation, feasibility analysis and hotel valuations.

    Andrew Barnard

    SunSwept Resorts

    Andrew is 3rd generation hotelier who has been working in the industry since his early teens. Having completed his education in the UK, Andrew lived and worked in fine hotels and restaurants across Europe, learning fluent French, Spanish and Italian. He lived in the US and worked as a manager for Niebaum-Coppola before moving back to St. Lucia to join the family business. Having worked through senior operations management, he became the General Manager of Jalousie Resort and BodyHoliday by 30 years old and joined SunSwept Resorts as Director of Sales & Marketing and has led the company since 2015. He has an Honors Degree in International Hospitality Management from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, ‘The General Managers Program’ from Cornell University and The Ivey Business School’s ‘Ivey Executive Programme’.

    Gonzalo García-Lago

    Partner, Azora Capital

    Gonzalo joined Azora in 2014 and is now co-leading the hospitality & leisure division at Azora. During his career at Azora, Gonzalo has successfully led the acquisitions of more than 75 hotels and 20,000 hotel keys across Europe, totalling more than €3.0 billion investments, working with leading domestic and international hotel operators. He has led, among many others, the acquisitions of (i) BluSerena (Italy - 13 hotels); (ii) a portfolio of 16 hotels from Barceló Group (Spain); (iii) a portfolio of 7 hotels from MedPlaya (Spain); (iv) a portfolio of 2 hotels from Tivoli / NH Group (Portugal); or (v) the JV signed with Palladium Group (Spain/Italy – 3 hotels). He has also led the disposal of several hotels in Europe and participated in the disposal of Hispania to Blackstone. Prior to joining Azora in 2014, Gonzalo was a Vice-President in the Investment Banking Division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) in Madrid, spending almost two years in BAML’s IBK Real Estate & Lodging team in London, and also worked for Deloitte. Gonzalo had a critical role in the coverage of BAML’s key accounts in Spain, and executed a wide variety of M&A, debt and equities in Spain and in Europe. Gonzalo holds a degree in business administration and management and an MBA from ESADE University in Barcelona.

    Todd Lundgren

    Executive Vice President, Arcadis UK ME Ltd.

    Todd is a Managing Principal with CallisonRTKL, serving as the Regional Practice Leader for EMEA as well as being the Market Leader for Hospitality in EMEA. Since relocating to the London office in August 2011, Todd become a recognised leader and expert in the planning and design of rental residential developments for institutional investors in the UK and served on the Steering Committee that produced the ULI Best Practice Guide for Build to Rent. He also has extensive worldwide experience in hospitality projects having led projects from Asia to Europe and the Middle East, Latin America and North America, covering the full spectrum of hotel brands and includes luxury hotels, resort hotels, boutique resorts, convention hotels, extensive property repositioning, renovations and master planning as well as multiple significant mixed-use projects. Todd has been in active member of ULI Product Councils for over 25 years, joining the Resort and Recreational Council in the US and now serving as the co-chair of the European Hotels, Destinations, and Resorts Product Council.

    Felipe Klein

    Head of Investment, HI PARTNERS

    Felipe Klein is Managing Director of Investments & Real Estate at Hotel Investment Partners (HIP) and has more than 15 years of experience in the financial, corporate finance and strategic consulting fields in the hospitality business and real estate. During his career at HIP, he has participated in transactions accounting for over €4B in Southern Europe (mainly Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece). He previously held the position of Vice President for Spain and Portugal at JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group, steering different hotel-based projects (transactions, asset management, valuations, operator searches and strategic consulting) and at Colliers International, where he participated in real estate debt restructuring projects for a volume over €300m. Felipe Klein holds a degree in Business Administration and Management and completed the first stage of the Law Degree, both from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He also obtained certification in the “Real Estate Investments and Asset Management” program at Cornell University.

    Chief Development Officer, Initial Real Estate

    Jean-François Garneau is Chief Development Officer and founder of INITIAL Stratégie et développement, an innovative strategic planning and development services company, as well as ALIÒ, a global advisory on building wellbeing, based in Vaud, Switzerland with offices in Montreal, Canada. JF brings over 37 years of diversified experience in real estate development and planning, mostly for resort projects, hospitality, and large mixed-use urban. Working with landowners, private and public institutions, and visionary developers around the globe, he has created development strategies and provided creative direction and project management expertise for resort and urban projects in Europe, India, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and the US, and Canada. His background in architecture, urban design and his experience in planning, and real estate development project management have allowed him to develop a unique expertise in finding creative solutions to complex real estate problems, crafting strategies, and creating compelling and memorable places from start to finish. A proven leader, strategic thinker, and team builder, JF's international experience has allowed him to build a global network of partners and professionals.
