    Sir Tim Smit KBE, Co-founder of the Eden Project
    Sir Tim Smit is best known for his achievements in Cornwall. He ‘discovered’ and then restored ‘The Lost Gardens of Heligan’ with John Nelson, which is now one of the UK’s best loved gardens having been named ‘Garden of the Year’ by BBC Countryfile Awards (Mar 2018). Tim’s book ‘The Lost Gardens of Heligan’ won Book of the Year in 1997.

    Tim is Executive Vice-Chair and Co-founder of the multi award-winning Eden Project in Cornwall. Since its opening in 2001, over 22 million people have come to see a once sterile pit, turned into a cradle of life containing world-class horticulture and startling architecture symbolic of human endeavour. Tim is also Executive Co-Chair for Eden Project International which aims to have an Eden Project on every habited continent by 2025.

    Steven Cowins

    Steven Cowins focuses his practice on real estate fund formation. He regularly advises clients in establishing real estate funds and joint ventures, structured acquisitions and dispositions of real estate, and investment in alternative asset classes. His clients include fund managers, funds, family offices and financial institutions on high-profile matters across Europe.

    Kari Pitkin

    PIMCO Prime Real Estate

    Kari Pitkin is Allianz Real Estate’s Head of Business Development for Europe. She is responsible for driving origination and partner management for more complex cross-border equity deals on a Pan European basis. Kari has 20 years of investment banking experience in the EMEA region. She joined Allianz Real Estate from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where she held the position of Head of EMEA Real Estate & Lodging, having joined the firm in 2005. Throughout her career Kari has been involved in over EUR 75 billion of real estate transactions on a global basis, including the US, Australia, Singapore and Europe. Kari is an MBA graduate of the University of Virginia, and is currently a Trustee for the Urban Land Institute.

    Richard Cook

    Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the Property industry and has led the delivery of complex mixed-use regeneration projects across the world. As Group Director of Development, Richard is responsible for leading and implementing Clarion’s ambitious development strategy to deliver sustainable communities across England. He leads a team of over 200 staff who have responsibility across the development lifecycle from new business, through to delivery and customer care. Richard is a member of both the NHBC Foundation and Quality Expert panel.

    Eleanor Jukes

    Head of Transactions, Urban Regeneration , Legal & General Investment Management

    Eleanor Jukes is the Head of Transactions for the Urban Regeneration team within Legal & General Capital (LGC). She oversees investment activity across the portfolio, working closely with colleagues in LGIM Real Assets and Legal & General Retirement, and is a Board Director of the BruntWood SciTech JV. Eleanor joined LGC in 2019, having spent five years as the Senior Strategist within LGIM’s Real Assets team. Her responsibilities include developing themes for investment strategy, advising the fund management team on stock selection and sector positioning, and compiling market forecasts. She specialised in the alternative property sectors, focusing predominately on residential and healthcare property. Eleanor joined LGIM in 2014 from Schroders where she worked in the Real Estate Investment Management Team.

    Peter Ballon

    Global Head of Real Estate, CPP Investment Board

    Peter is responsible for CPPIB’s global real estate portfolio and is Chair of the Real Estate Investment Committee which has oversight for CPPIB’s real estate investments. Peter is a Board member of Aliansce Shopping Centers, a Brazilian public company, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Peter has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining CPPIB in 2007, Peter worked with several leading real estate companies including Canderel, Brookfield and TrizecHahn. Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, an MBA from the Ivey School of Business and has been granted the ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors.

    Duncan Walker

    CEO & Co-Founder, Skyports

    Duncan is co-founder and CEO of Skyports, a leading enabler of advanced air mobility (AAM), providing the critical link between the ground and the sky. Skyports designs, builds and operates take-off and landing infrastructure for electric air taxis, as well as providing drone delivery through its logistics arm, Delivery by Skyports, which is already proving the viability of the company's best-in-class unmanned systems technologies within the medical, e-commerce and logistics sectors. Duncan has 20 years of commercial real estate experience. He was a Main Board Director at Helical plc, a FTSE listed investment and development company. Duncan holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Management from Oxford University.

    Colin Lizieri

    Grosvenor Professor of Real Estate Finance, University of Cambridge UK

    Colin Lizieri is Grosvenor Professor of Real Estate Finance at the University of Cambridge, joint director of the Cambridge Real Estate Research Centre and a fellow of Pembroke College. He has some 35 years experience as an academic and practitioner in real estate research, consultancy and international expert witness work, advises international organisations, central banks, government, professional bodies and firms on real estate investment and has published widely on real estate finance, investment and office market dynamics and global capital flows. He has an undergraduate degree from Oxford, a PhD from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

    Clare Thomas

    Partner, CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP

    Clare Thomas is a partner at law firm CMS which has the largest real estate team in Europe. She has experience acting for property companies, funds, institutions and international investors on acquisitions, disposals, lettings and developments. Her transactional expertise spans a range of sectors including office, hotel, retail and mixed use/residential. Her clients include the likes of Angelo Gordon, Credit Suisse, Blackstone, Urban & Civic and Brockton as well as various private investors. Significant recent transactions include acting on Singapore listed REIT Suntec’s acquisition of 50% of Phase 1 of Land Sec’s Nova Victoria scheme from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, for Thai investor DTGO corporation on the circa £450m acquisition of the Marathon portfolio of 17 IHG and Hilton branded hotels and the Arora Group on it’s Crawley Station Gateway scheme which includes the regeneration of the station along with the provision of new office, retail and residential premises. Clare is an active member of a number of real estate associations and has served on committees for the Urban Land Institute and is on the operational board of the Investment Property Forum and chairs their education committee. She was recently instrumental in the production of industry standard non disclosure and exclusivity agreements, designed to streamline the real estate transaction process as well as the production of the Guide to Streamlining Transactions: Improving liquidity in commercial real estate. She has also written for the Property Law Journal and Estates Gazette and regularly speaks at industry events. Clare also leads the publication of CMS’s annual real estate thought leadership, with recent research looking at everything from the future of the workplace to the social value of real estate Real Estate Reset (cms.law). She has been named as one of Bisnow’s 51 most influential women in real estate and appeared in The Lawyers Hot 100 List 2019.

    Robert Tincknell

    Partner, Areli Real Estate Limited

    Rob Tincknell is a highly experienced leading real estate developer with significant, proven, large-scale property development and investment capability. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, Rob has creatively unlocked over 40m sqft of challenging development and infrastructure projects and in doing so, has established new standards for socially led, urban regeneration and the important role it must play in supporting the fabric of our cities and communities. Most known for his leadership of the Battersea Power Station project for the last decade, Rob is now founder of Areli Real Estate Limited, a specialised development management business focused upon the challenges of UK town centre urban regeneration and repositioning. In only 2 years, Areli is already established as a market leader in urban regeneration, placemaking and development with town centre regeneration projects in Maidenhead, Orpington, Brentford and other locations.

    Susan Freeman

    Partner, Mishcon De Reya

    Susan is a partner at law firm Mishcon de Reya. An experienced real estate lawyer, her in depth understanding of the property market and business training as a Sloan Masters MSc (London Business School) graduate, combined with a wide circle of contacts help make the firm’s programme of events “must attend” networking opportunities. Susan was listed as ''The woman who knows everyone' by Bisnow in their 51 Most influential Women in UK real estate list 2018. Susan is a member of the Mishcon Technology Group, which has recently launched MDR LAB - an incubator programme for tech start-ups in the legal space. She also mentors for Pi Labs accelerator programme for proptech start-ups since it launched and is a regular speaker on the #proptech circuit. Susan is Vice Chair of the British Property Federation's Technology and Innovation Group. She is also a member of the Urban land Institute Technology and Real Estate European Product Council. She chaired the FUTURE: Proptech Advisory Group bringing together key influencers in real estate and proptech. She is ranked 40 in the Tyto Tech Top 500 List 2018 Susan is a non-executive director of development company, This Land, on the advisory boards of Seaforth Land and Work.Life and is on the board of Bee Midtown, the Holborn and surrounding area's Business Improvement District where she chairs its Property Group. She is on the advisory board of Property Week and is an active member of a number of property related organisations including The British Property Federation, The Urban Land Institute and REVO. Susan regularly undertakes speaking and panel engagements on real estate, retail and proptech related issues. She hosts the popular Propertyshe podcast where she interviews some of the top influencers who define and make a difference to the real estate industry and built environment.     Frank Khoo

    Group Chief Investment Officer, City Developments Limited

    Mr Frank Khoo joined CDL as Group Chief Investment Officer in February 2018 to source and execute new investment opportunities, and also establish a dedicated fund management platform. With over 20 years of international experience in fund management, private equity, acquisition of real estate assets and the repositioning and restructuring of real estate businesses, Mr Khoo has an extensive network of investors, ranging from insurance companies, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and high net worth individuals across Asia and Europe. Previously, Mr Khoo was the Global Head of Asia of AXA Investment Manager – Real Assets (AXA IM Real Assets) where he oversaw all real estate activities for AXA IM Real Assets in Asia, including investment, transaction, fund and asset management, capital raising and finance. He has also held various executive positions in Pacific Star Fund Management Pte Ltd, Guthrie GTS Ltd, Phileoland Bhd and Kestral Capital Partners. Mr Khoo holds a Master of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, as well as Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science degrees from University of Queensland, Australia. He is also a Chartered Accountant in Singapore.

    Sigrid Duhamel

    Chief Executive Officer France, Global CIO, BNP Paribas REIM

    Sigrid Duhamel joined BNP Paribas REIM in July 2017. In her capacity of CEO of BNP Paribas REIM France, she manages a team of 170 people, encompassing fund raising, product development, fund management, investment, divestments and asset management as well as all functional activities. Sigrid Duhamel is also member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas REIM. Since 1st March 2020, and in addition to her current position as CEO for France, Sigrid is Global Chief Investment Officer. She is in charge of overseeing investments, divestments and asset management across all the markets and for all assets classes. Prior to joining BNP Paribas REIM, Sigrid Duhamel was President of CBRE Global Investors France. She was formerly Corporate Real Estate Director of Groupe PSA, where she managed the global real estate portfolio. Sigrid Duhamel has dual citizenship, French and Danish. She holds a Master in Sciences in Civil Engineering and graduated in 1990 from Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics (ESTP). She earned her MBA from INSEAD in 1995.

    Vanessa Hale

    Vanessa is a leader and innovator within the real estate sector. She is Head of Insights and Residential Research at BNP Paribas Real Estate UK with over 20 years of diverse experience in global strategy and research across the USA and the UK. As a cross-sector specialist in the built environment, she has big picture understanding acquired from a wide range of substantial strategic projects. Vanessa is currently responsible for leading the insights research programme in the UK, identifying trends that will impact the built environment that we plan, design, build, work, play and live in. She holds degrees from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and Roosevelt University, Chicago. Vanessa is a Global Governing Trustee and the current UK Chair for the Urban Land Institute. She is also Chair of DRUM London, board member of the Property Industry Alliance, Commercial Property board member of the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG), Diversity & Inclusion Editorial board member of Property Week, and a member of the Society of Property Researchers.
