    Speakers

    Himanshu Wani

    Director, CBRE Investment Management Europe BV

    Himanshu is an experienced real estate analyst and economist specializing in macro-economic analysis and forecasting. With a proven track record of delivering insightful analysis to drive strategic decision-making, he is currently a Director in the European Research team at CBRE Investment Management. In his role, he is responsible for developing macro-economic scenarios that underpin real estate forecasts and formulate the UK house view across various sectors. He also leads the European office research coverage, providing in-depth analysis and forecasts for the office market while assessing the impact of economic and capital market trends on property markets across the UK and Europe. He holds a Master's degree in Real Estate from the University of Cambridge.

    Phil Ryan

    Director, JLL

    Phil Ryan is a director of JLL’s City Futures platform based out of London. In his role, he focuses on the structural changes underway in urban development, best practices in large-scale regeneration, identifying innovation hot-spots, the effects of agglomeration economies, portfolio strategy with respect to spatial dynamics in cities and analysing commercial real estate performance in both emerging and mature growth clusters. In his previous role, Phil was the director of JLL’s U.S. Office Research platform in New York, where he focused on both national and local trends in the office market across more than 50 metro areas, with an emphasis on integrating economic and demographic data into real estate analysis, outlooks and decision-making as well as contributing to JLL’s quarterly office report suite and industry-specific reporting.

    Peter Riley

    Head of Capital Solutions and UK Commercial, M&G Real Estate

    Peter leads the UK Commercial Investment and Asset Management teams. He is also responsible for separate account and joint venture investment strategies. Peter is a member of the M&G Real Estate Executive committee and sits on the UK and European investment committees. With 19 years industry experience, Peter joined M&G in 2010 and was previously a co-fund manager within the long lease division, investing in all sectors across the UK and Europe. Prior to this he held responsibilities for the management of direct and indirect real estate portfolios in the UK and Europe, in addition to managing joint ventures on behalf a large separate account mandate.  Before joining M&G Real Estate, Peter worked for DTZ Investment Management and went on to join their Corporate Finance team. Peter graduated from the University of Liverpool with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Economic and Social History and also gained an MSc in International Real Estate from the University of Reading. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and also holds the Certificate in Corporate Finance (ACSI) from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

    Daniel Mahoney

    LaSalle Investment Management

    Daniel Mahoney is a Managing Director within LaSalle Investment Management’s US Research & Strategy team. He leads the team’s US residential, retail, and niche coverage, working closely with LaSalle’s comingled fund and separate account clients to create and implement real estate strategy. Daniel has contributed articles for the PREA Quarterly and NCREIF Performance Report and is a member of the NMHC Research Committee. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from Dartmouth College.

    Duncan Swinhoe

    Gensler

    Duncan is a recognised leader in urban transformation, serving as Co-Managing Principal for Gensler’s Europe region. Spearheading the firm’s expansion across Europe, he has led the growth of the business and established offices in key markets such as Germany and France. He has also played a pivotal role in shaping some of Gensler’s most significant architectural projects worldwide. As a member of the Board of Directors and Management Committee, Duncan is responsible for overseeing the firm’s work in the Cities sector and leveraging its global expertise to deliver innovative solutions for clients. As a driving force behind Gensler’s Developer practice, Duncan has cultivated a deep understanding of the trends shaping urban transformation, the future of cities, and the evolving nature of work. He is a sought-after speaker, sharing insights at major global affairs and real estate events – including COP and MIPIM – engaging in critical conversations on topics such as the innovation economy and the regeneration of cities as a catalyst for economic growth. He has also moderated discussions such as “The Future of Office Work” during the ULI Europe Virtual Conference in 2021. A committed advocate for urban transformation, Duncan has been a member of the Urban Land Institute for over a decade and is also a longstanding member of the British Council for Offices. His expertise in city-making, real estate strategy, and workplace innovation positions him as a trusted advisor to clients navigating the complexities of a rapidly evolving global landscape. Duncan earned a B.A. with Honours and Dip. Arch from the University of Liverpool and spent a year abroad at the University of Washington in Seattle.

    John Mulqueen

    Chief Investment Officer, Canary Wharf Group

    John joined CWG in August 2023 as Chief Investment Officer having previously served at CBRE IM as Head of Offices EMEA and as Head of Transactions before that. John has over 30 years of real estate experience in the UK and EMEA including investment strategy, transactions, development, leasing, and management. Prior to CBRE IM, John spent ten years at Hammerson plc. as Group Director leading the team responsible for the London office development and asset management business. John earned a BSc in Estate Management from the University of East London and holds a post graduate diploma in property investment from the Investment Property Forum (IPF).  He was elected a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in 1994 and was made a Fellow (FRICS) in 2012.

    Jamie von Klemperer

    President, KPF

    James Von Klemperer is President and Design Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates where he began as a young architect in 1983. His work ranges in scale from a house to a city, and he contributes closely to these efforts from conception to completion. In addition to focusing on his own projects, he leads the community of designers within the firm in exploring shared architectural agendas and goals. As President of the firm, he is responsible for leading the staff of 700 people in 6 offices around the world. A major focus of Jamie’s work has been to heighten the role that large buildings play in making urban space. He has explored this theme in major projects in Asia, including the China Resources Headquarters in Shenzhen, Plaza 66 and Jing An Kerry Center in Shanghai, China Central Place in Beijing, and the 123-story Lotte World Tower in Seoul. In New York, his design for One Vanderbilt will link Midtown’s tallest tower directly to Grand Central Terminal. Each of these projects creates strong symbiotic relationships between program space and the public realm. At the larger scale, his design for New Songdo City extends this challenge to the scope of urban planning. Jamie’s designs have been recognized for the marriage of efficient program with adventurous form. His Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington DC, Dongbu Financial Center in Seoul, Park Fifth Residential Project in Los Angeles, and Riverside 66 Urban Market in Tianjin have all received AIA design awards. In London, Jamie is leading the design of the Wanda Hotel and Residential Towers in One Nine Elms. He is also active on the continent, in particular in Paris, where he is completing a building for the Ministry of Justice at the Parc du Millénaire and in Lyon where he is designing a series of buildings within the Part Dieu Station Precinct. Jamie has lectured at Harvard, Columbia, Tsinghua, Tongji, Seoul National, Yonsei Universities, the ESA in Paris, AMO in Lyon,

    Emilie Jaskula

    Global Head of Offices, AXA Investment Managers IM

    Emilie Jaskula, currently the Global Head of Offices at AXA IM ALTS - Real Assets, leads the asset management activities for AXA IM's clients in the office sector. As a leader in asset management, AXA IM Alts manages a portfolio of over 380 office assets in the world valued at nearly 26 billion euros on behalf of its clients. With over seventeen years of experience in the real estate sector, Emilie has held various leadership positions within AXA IM, including Director of Asset Management and Disposals for France, after starting her professional career at AEW Europe in acquisitions. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Emilie Jaskula is actively committed to sharing her knowledge with the next generation of professionals as a guest lecturer at ESSEC Business School, where she teaches several courses on commercial real estate and supervises student research projects. She is herself a graduate of ESSEC Business School. Her associative engagement is demonstrated through her active participation in several associations, including ULI France, ULI Europe, and the Institut Choiseul, where she is determined to advance the real estate market while integrating sustainable and innovative practices.

    Xavier Denis

    Founder, Castlight

    Xavier has 25 years of multidisciplinary, multisectoral and international experience in Real Estate Investment and Development, both in the listed and non-listed sectors. Before founding Castlight, a real estate advisory firm, in 2024, Xavier was member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors at AG Real Estate, a Brussels based real estate investor and developer with an international and diversified portfolio under management of €6,7bn. As Chief Development Officer, he was responsible for all development projects of the group representing a 1.500.000 m² pipeline. Xavier was also Chairman of AG Real Estate France and Board Member of the senior care group Anima. Prior to that, Xavier was until 2018 Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at Cofinimmo, a diversified REIT with a €6,2bn portfolio. Xavier joined Cofinimmo in 2002 after five years in London with architectural firms Chapman Taylor and HOK Sport, now known as Populous. Xavier graduated from UCL in 1996 as Civil Engineer Architect, received an MBA from INSEAD in 2002 and attended different executive programmes at the Harvard Business School. Xavier is past Global Governing Trustee and past Chair for Belgium & Luxembourg of the Urban Land Institute.
