Jon specialises in providing strategic advice, independent challenge and insightful teaching on responsible, sustainable and impact investment, urban futures, risk management, effective policy and sustainability. His clients include global investment managers and financial institutions, large public companies, as well as governmental and industry bodies. He has a proven track-record of industry leadership, distinctive vision, effective collaboration and persuasive advocacy. Jon co-founded Hillbreak in 2015 with his long-term friend and colleague, Miles Keeping, following a career in Head of Sustainability roles in the Real Estate practice of global accounting giant, Deloitte, and commercial property firm, Drivers Jonas. Prior to that he pioneered region-scale environmental regeneration and Green Infrastructure strategies focused on optimising measurable socio-economic and environmental benefits. He also led the sustainable development policy agenda within regional government. He now acts as strategic advisor to many international and premium listed organisations including Nuveen, Savills IM, Royal London and Grosvenor, among others. He has developed comprehensive Responsible, Sustainable & Impact Investment strategies and frameworks for asset owners and managers in the real estate, infrastructure and reinsurance sectors globally. He is currently leading on the delivery of a ground-breaking ESG Training Programme for Real Estate Professionals on behalf of the Better Buildings Partnership and 10 funding organisations including Legal & General IM, LaSalle, Nuveen and Hammerson. This includes helping course participants understand how to identify and evaluate material ESG factors in a range of different sector and investment contexts. In addition to this flagship industry programme, he leads client learning programmes on ESG and sustainability for many of the world's best-known investment, asset management and property organisations. He also provides mentoring and coaching support to ESG and responsible investment professionals; some in the early stages of their careers, others at Board and Executive Committee level. He is appointed to the ESG Committee of Get Living, the Responsible Property Investment Committee of Royal London Asset Management, the Advisory Board of LSL Partners, and a number of other governance roles. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of ULI UK and is a former chair of its Sustainability Committee. He spent 8 years as Trustee and Company Secretary of the Williams Syndrome Foundation, and six years in the role of President and Chair of the Board of the Federation of European Williams Syndrome associations (FEWS).
