Michiel Muller is a Dutch serial entrepreneur. After his graduation from the Erasmus School of Economics and a career at ExxonMobil he co-founded several companies, of which the unmanned service station chain Tango and road assistance company Route Mobiel. In 2015 he launched the online supermarket Picnic in the Netherlands that delivers groceries at the lowest price free to your door. In 2018 Picnic opened in Germany and in 2021 in France. He is an angel investor and serves on several boards of early stage internet. At both the Eramus Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Amsterdam Centre of Entrepreneurship he promotes to include entrepreneurship in the faculty’s curriculum. Muller is board member of the FD Mediagroup (Dutch Financial Times) and Vermaat (tailor-made hospitality). Muller is member of the committee of the National Growth Fund in NL. He is chairman of the largest university endowment fund in the Netherlands, the Erasmus Trustfund, aimed at supporting initiatives for the University of the Future. He’s an author of two books on entrepreneurship of which one was chosen by the Dutch public as “best book on entrepreneurship”. Muller lives in Rotterdam, is married with Irene and has 3 children.
