Trading Up: Dining, Leisure, Amenities, and the New Shopping Centre
This is the second report from the ULI Retail and Entertainment Council to look at the role that food and beverage (F&B) and leisure have in
ULI Germany Product Councils will gather in Berlin on 30 November to hold workshops exploring retail, hotels, real estate development, and healthy places. Product Councils are forums for industry leaders to meet, exchange ideas, share best practices, and foster thought leadership in specific sectors of the real estate market.
The event, part of ULI Germany’s Leadership Award and Council Day, will feature the following workshops:
In this workshop, Raimund Pätzmann, Zalando SE; Stephan Koof, REWE Group; Marcus Janko, ECE Projektmanagement G.m.b.H. & Co; and Michael Hermann, Decathlon Real Estate Germany will explore the impact of e-commerce on traditional retail. The workshop will also discuss how to manage the growing need for logistics spaces in urban areas. Moderators will be Olaf Ley, iMallinvest Europe GmbH and Ralf-Peter Koschny, bulwiengesa AG.
The hotel business is recently attracting more investors as new innovations are implemented. Moderators Nicole Franken and Prof. Bernhard Franken, Franken Architekten, will host the workshop with input from Reiner Nittka, GBI AG and Stefan Giesemann, Jones Lang LaSalle SE. The workshop will cover strategic partnerships and hybrid usage of modern hotel projects.
In this workshop, groundbreaking developments will be discussed with Michael O. Schmutzer, Design Offices GmbH and Timo Tschammler, Jones Lang LaSalle SE. Dr. Martin Haller, DLA Piper UK LLP and Dr. Markus Wiedenmann, Art-Invest Real Estate Management will moderate the session. Under the catchphrase “Space as a Service”, workshop attendees will discuss how coworking spaces will completely change the relationship between landlord and tenant.
For the Healthy Places Council workshop, ULI Germany architecture expert Julia Erdmann, JES, will host a site tour of the Holzmarkt area in Berlin, a unique mixed-use project on the Spree riverside.
