Finalist teams and jury unveiled for ULI Hines Student Competition - Europe
ULI and Hines have announced both the finalist teams and the jury for the third annual ULI Hines Student Competition – Europe.
The Urban Land Institute (ULI), the world’s oldest and largest network of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use experts, has announced the 2022 New Real Estate Vanguard, made up of ten outstanding contributors to the real estate sector from across the European region.
Selected by the European Young Leaders Group of the ULI and Property EU, each will be featured in ‘Build and Disrupt’, the second annual New Vanguard podcast series which follows last year’s successful launch programme.
This year’s contributors include:
The podcast series will be hosted by Robin Marriott from Property EU and will feature individuals who have shown entrepreneurial flair or shaken up the corporate world and are actively reshaping the real estate industry with their vision and bold ideas.
Since its launch, New Real Estate Vanguard has been led by two ULI Europe Young Leaders Committee members, Ronan O’Neill, associate, client, and partner group (real estate) KKR & Co. Inc. and Philipp Braunwalder, head of business development and administration, Real PM Ltd. The aim is to celebrate the success of professionals from across the built environment and look to the future of real estate.
“As the real estate sector transforms and is redefined, the innovators and the entrepreneurs that can navigate, and affect, change will be among those who endure in the future. Game changers from across the real estate market in Europe are already demonstrating exciting new approaches, and it is only right that these achievements should be celebrated”, said Braunwalder.
“It’s exciting to be embarking on a second series of New Real Estate Vanguard podcasts. The interviews help to showcase the diversity of talent entering the industry, introducing inspiring new ideas and approaches to the built environment that should be of great interest both to ULI Europe Young Leader members and to the industry at large”, added O’Neill.
Lisette van Doorn, ULI Europe CEO, said: “Real estate and the built environment are currently navigating unprecedented change in a highly uncertain world, whether by combatting climate change by taking measures around decarbonisation, addressing social inequality by investing in affordable housing and social infrastructure, or better addressing the customer’s needs through the use of technology and hiring new skills. To transform successfully, the industry’s emerging talent and tomorrow’s leaders have a key role to play and it’s fitting that the new talent in real estate should be celebrated. The podcast contributors selected by the Young Leaders Executive Committee will provide an inspiring glimpse into that future, not only to those at the earliest stages of their careers but to us all.”
The first episode of the New Real Estate Vanguard podcast series two will be available later this Spring.
