Following the successful ULI Turkey event on alternative real estate, members met on the 18th of December for a panel discussion on senior housing investments. The event started with a presentation from the Vice Chair of ULI’s Senior Housing Product Council and founder of Third Act Solutions, Aaron Conley.
The presentation was an introduction to US Senior Housing, first addressing how deals are financed and the current state of the industry before looking at specific product types and some of the latest developments. Aaron was joined by fellow ULI colleague, Michelle McDonough Winters, Senior Visiting Fellow for Housing at the ULI Terwilliger Center, who both joined the discussion via a web link.
After this, discussion was opened to the panel. Attendees included Kemal Aydın, General Coordinator, Ministry of Health and Dilek Hocaoğlu, Consultant at Mulvanny G2 and Saltans Architect, with architect Ayşe Hasol Erktin moderating the conversation. Themes in the presentation were discussed on a local level with housing policies, architecture, future trends and best practice in Turkey being discussed at length.
The panel discussion included a coffee break, which gave attendees the opportunity to network.
