On 17 May 2017, more than 170 people attended an event hosted by the ULI Turkey Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) at the Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul. The event showcased research findings from ULI Turkey, the RE Trust Companies Association (GYODER) and the Turkish Contractors Union (TMB) on the current status of women in the real estate industry.
The purpose of the research was to reveal the facts on women working in the industry and pave the way for WLI Turkey to help create better working conditions and increase career opportunities for women.
“The data on women working in the industry is very limited,” said ULI Turkey Chair Ayse Erktin. With our research, we have paved the way for both to the work of WLI Turkey, and future studies on women and real estate. A roadmap will be designed for the future actions, and I believe that WLI Turkey will be successful in implementing it.”
