Jonathan De Crem, Senior Investment Advisor – Capital Markets, Cushman & Wakefield, and Nicolas Delahaut, Investment Manager, Unibra Real Estate, have been appointed as the new Co-Chairs of the ULI Belgium and Luxembourg Young Leaders group, which represents members of 35 years old and under.
De Crem and Delahaut officially commenced a two-year term as Co-Chairs in September 2024, succeeding Alexandre Birkiye, Development Manager, Nextensa, and will serve on a voluntary basis for two years.
Following roles as an Asset Manager at Unibra and as a consultant at Euronext, and with a background in finance Jonathan De Crem joined the Cushman & Wakefield Investment Department, where he offers underwriting support and insights to clients and the investor community, advising clients in Belgium and Luxembourg. He graduated from UNamur in Business Analysis & Integration, completed a successful traineeship at the European Investment Bank, and has also been a member of Young UPSI (YUB) for two years.
Nicolas Delahaut joined Unibra as a project manager before progressing to his current role as Investment Manager where he is responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and detailed financial reporting. His career began at Rothschild & Co where he completed a sales traineeship role in the asset management team, and he holds an MSc in Finance and Investments from the Rotterdam School of Management and an Executive Masters in Real Estate (EMI) from St. Louis Brussels. Additionally, Nicolas has also been a member of Young UPSI (YUB) for a year.
“We are excited to take over as ULI Young Leader Co-Chairs for Belgium & Luxembourg”, said Decrem. “First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest thanks to Alexandre Birkiye for his leadership, dedication, hard work and vision, which have laid a solid foundation for the future of the group in our region. We are also grateful for the opportunity provided by Michel Van Geyte to continue building on this progress.”
Delahaut added: “Our primary focus moving forward will be to strengthen the ULI Young Leaders’ presence, particularly in Luxembourg. We aim to enhance our visibility through a diverse range of events and an amplified digital presence. By doing so, we aspire to create open-minded, meaningful exchanges within the community, as well as encouraging cross-border discussions with neighbouring countries that enrich the experiences of our members.”
Decrem concluded: “In addition, we are committed to promoting a fresh perspective for young professionals, offering them opportunities to foster their development and growth within the real estate sector, particularly through a mentorship program and other initiatives. Together, we look forward to driving this initiative forward and creating an even more dynamic, connected, and engaged ULI Young Leaders community.”
