Technology And Real Estate Product Council To Launch At ULI Europe Real Estate Forum
June 4, 2019
The Technology and Real Estate Product Council, which explores how technology and innovation in real estate and urban development can enhance customer experiences and quality of life, will be launched at the ULI Europe Real Estate Forum in Denmark.
It is the eighth Product Council established by ULI Europe and is designed for industry leaders to meet, exchange ideas, share best practice and foster thought leadership in their sector-specific sector of the real estate market.
Cees van der Spek (EDGE Technologies), Jan Duffhues (City of Amsterdam) and Roelof Opperman (Fifth Wall) will be the inaugural Co-Chairs of the group, which is set to meet on Wednesday 19 June office in Copenhagen following two successful exploratory events at last year’s Real Estate Forum in Dublin and the ULI Europe Conference in London earlier this year.
Mr van der Spek said: “There was a great deal of energy in the room when we held a roundtable event at the ULI Europe Conference about technology’s impact on real estate. It became clear to us that through ULI’s international membership, establishing a formal Product Council will provide a unique platform for industry leaders to learn more from each other about such a vital and growing area of the property sector.”
Mr Duffhues said: “It is an honour to be jointly leading a group of passionate and influential decision-makers in the industry on the topic of technology and real estate. We are looking forward to meeting in Copenhagen where the ULI Europe Real Estate Forum’s main theme will be “Building for Life”; the role that technology plays in this is absolutely crucial. We have some fantastic speakers lined up and we encourage any new members who want to join us to get in touch.”
Mr Opperman, who joined ULI earlier this year, said: “This is a fantastic way to get involved with ULI as an organisation and to be at the heart of what is happening in PropTech at a global scale. The connections that I have already made have been extremely valuable and I look forward to what we can achieve as ULI Europe’s newest Product Council.”
ULI members can search for Product Council opportunities through Navigator, ULI’s portal for matching individuals with engagement and opportunity to grow as a leader in the real estate industry.
The agenda for the next Technology and Real Estate Product Council meeting can be found on the ULI Europe Real Estate Forum website.
