The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has announced the appointment of Konstantinos (Kostis) Papadopoulos, Founder and Director of Resi Company, as the next Chair of the ULI Greece & Cyprus National Council. Kostis succeeds Konstantinos Santikos, Managing Director, Santikos Collection, and he officially began his term on 1 July 2025, serving on a voluntary basis for the next two years.
Kostis joined ULI in 2022 and is an active member of the ULI Greece & Cyprus Executive Committee. He also co-chairs the ULI Greece & Cyprus Living Council, which focuses on the opportunities and challenges related to all types of residential property.
At Resi Company, a residential investment company in Athens, focusing on the renovation of existing properties, he is responsible for implementation of the strategy and the direction of the company. He has 13 years of institutional real estate experience across London and Abu Dhabi where he held positions on strategy, research and listed real estate investments, holding roles with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), M&G Real Estate and DTZ. Kostis holds an MSc in Real Estate Investment from Bayes Business School in London, UK.
Outgoing Chair Konstantinos Santikos welcomed his successor’s appointment: “Kostis has been an enthusiastic, passionate and creative member of our Executive Committee for several years, and I am certain that he will apply his drive, energy and entrepreneurial spirit as he assumes the role of Chair. His broad, international and diverse experience in real estate, will ensure he is very well placed to lead ULI in Greece & Cyprus and focus on its mission priorities.”
Kostis Papadopoulos comments, “I am honoured to be appointed chair of ULI Greece & Cyprus and look forward to working with the national council as we look to address some of the challenges and opportunities present in the region. These may include the institutionalisation of the market and associated establishment of living sectors, the importance of affordability, the potential of large-scale mixed-use projects and the creation of an investor friendly environment and streamlining of investment, planning, and transaction procedures.”
“My priority focus for ULI will be on both the growth of our membership in the region and on exploring new opportunities to engage with our existing and potential members and other stakeholders as we work to enhance the visibility of ULI in the region. In addition, it is important that we continue to closely collaborate with the wider ULI members across Europe and globally to leverage their knowledge, experiences and best practices in addressing many of the challenges our industry faces.”
“An additional priority will be to build upon the great achievements of my predecessor Konstantinos in exploring opportunities to enhance the impact of ULI in the region, including through innovative new events and initiatives and leveraging ULI’s existing work in key areas such as sustainability and housing.”
Lisette van Doorn, CEO of ULI Europe, said: “I am very pleased that the well-connected and experienced industry leader and entrepreneur Kostis Papadopoulos will take over as ULI Greece & Cyprus Chair for the next two years. I think Kostis is very well placed to focus on further growing ULI in the region and continue to develop a local member programme that both engages with the key real estate issues in the region and reflects our mission and priorities across Europe and globally.”
“At the same time, my sincere thanks go to our outgoing chair Konstantinos Santikos for both his success as leader of the National Council and strong, continued commitment to ULI and its mission. Under Konstantinos’ leadership, ULI Greece & Cyprus has further developed in the region, increasing its visibility and characterised by successful, knowledge sharing focused events, including the Annual Conference, with strong engagement from its members. The active young leaders programme and recently launched ULI NEXT, a programme, focused on next level career professionals, between 35-45 years, are strong examples of this.”
