    Join us for an intercontinental event, hosted by 3XN/GXN at their beautiful waterside studio on the eve of the C Change Summit, where Canada’s ULI Toronto delegation will meet with ULI Denmark members over drinks and a panel discussion.

     
    Cyndi Rottenberg-Walker and Christine Fang-Denissov, Partners at Toronto’s Urban Strategies will moderate a panel of Canadian and Danish ULI members, including GXN’s Partner, Lasse Lind discussing sustainable development, carbon reduction and remediation.
     
    The discussion will center around inspiration from Danish sustainable solutions to some of Canada’s most significant projects; and highlight some of the challenges and strengths of being first movers.

    Lasse Lind

    3XN

    Lasse Lind is an architect and partner with GXN, 3XN’s sister innovation company. He also acts as head of consultancy for all GXN projects. Lasse has an analytical and philosophical approach to architectural work and has led several of the company’s significant research and construction projects, including the Green Solution House and the new Sydney Fish Market. He has a deep knowledge of sustainable design and, through the company’s work with Cradle to Cradle, develops sustainability solutions in the Danish construction industry. As part of the board of sustainability for the Danish Association of Architectural Firms he works to bring citizens, politicians and businesses together to enhance sustainable impact throughout the industry. Lasse is a sought-after lecturer and has written several articles and contributed to books on environmental design and new materials in architecture and design.

    Christine Fang-Denissov

    Partner, Urban Strategies Inc.

    Christine Fang-Denissov is driven by a passion for design and a desire to help communities realize positive change. She regularly directs complex and multi-disciplinary teams, and is credited for various award-winning urban regeneration and master planning projects across Canada and Asia. She is developing the Framework Plan for the 520-acre Downsview Lands; advancing the District Plans for Taxiway West District and Brightwater (Port Credit); planning approvals for Canada Square, Commerce Court, and Galleria Mall; and recent Campus Master Plans for Queens University, and Centennial College.

    From campus and community master plans through to development approvals and comprehensive policy studies, Cyndi leads large teams committed to effecting positive change in urban and urbanizing settings at all scales. Known for her skill in motivating diverse groups toward a common purpose, Cyndi understands what it takes to create healthy and enduring urban environments that effectively synthesize public and private interests. Key projects include Campus Master Plans for both Princeton University and Cornell University; transformation of the former Christie Cookie factory in Humber Bay Shores into a mixed use community designed around transit and a full range of jobs, services and amenities; and Tewin, a new 15-minute live-work community in south-east Ottawa founded on Algonquin design principles and endorsed within the One Planet Living framework.
