    Dhananjai Dhananjai

    Fund Manager,

    DJ has over 20 years of experience in establishing product strategies, investing and acquiring assets in the residential sector, and delivering development portfolios in the U.K. Over £1bn of residential land, funding’s and standing assets acquired and delivered via strategic joint ventures, regeneration partnerships and providing finance to some of major developers and house builders. During this period, he has been instrumental in the delivery of over 5,000 units across multiple programmes. Dhananjai (“DJ”) is Fund Manager within CBRE Global Investors, with current focus on leading and developing the residential investment platform for the UK Affordable Housing Fund, a social impact product, which targets investments social and affordable rented, private rented and other residential assets. DJ joined the Firm in 2007 within the CBRE Global Investment Partners (“GIP”) business overseeing global investment portfolios and managed client capital worth over £1.5 billion. He oversaw a wide range of investments across the alternatives sectors including residential, long-income, debt, and the commercial property. Prior to joining CBRE Global Investors, DJ served with English Partnerships as Senior Investment Manager focusing on developing national housing and urban development / regeneration programs including the First Time Buyers Initiative (national shared-ownership portfolio), Surplus Public Sector Land initiative, Community Land Trusts and acquisition and funding of mixed use, housing and development schemes. Prior to this, DJ worked on regional development and regeneration projects. DJ holds a Masters of Science in Real Estate Investments, and Urban Economics from University College London and is a trained Architect with an interest in art and urbanity.

    Jamie Anderson

    Urban Well Being Lead, Buro Happold

    Dr. Jamie Anderson has 16 years’ professional experience, split between research and practice: creating and using strong urban wellbeing evidence. His PhD was supervised jointly by an urban designer and neuro-psychologist at Cambridge University. Most of his research focuses on sustainable city and neighbourhood design, in relation to Subjective Wellbeing and associated behaviours – such as the Five Ways to Wellbeing. Together with University of Manchester colleagues, he has developed new robust tools such as MOHAWk and NOURISH, and ‘action research’ using analogue and digital approaches, in particular – improving causal inference with natural experiments. Within Buro Happold’s sustainability team, he leads a range of work improving the interface between urban design and the science of wellbeing. Most recently and on behalf of Argent Related, he led an overarching wellbeing strategy and the first stages of a Flourishing Index, to be used to evaluate a large regeneration project – Brent Cross Town (BXT), in north London.

    Nick Wicks

    Senior Social Manager – Sustainability, Argent Group Plc

    Nick is a Senior Social Manager, leading on the delivery of social value for Argent Related across their projects. His main project is Brent Cross Town (BXT) where he is establishing Employment & Skills strategies for contractors whilst working with initial assets to maximise the local value that they bring. As part of this, he is working with Buro Happold and the University of Manchester to create a flourishing index to manage the fulfilment of BXT’s pledge to “create a North London Town where all can flourish”: He has over 15 years’ experience effectively and proactively engaging communities under some of the world’s most challenging conditions across five continents ranging from tropical forest conservation to large-scale construction projects within central London. He joined Argent in September 2020.

    Monika Laudencka-Sobik

    Monika joined ULI Europe in 2015 and for the past two years she has been co-chairing, jointly with Mathieu Elshout, the European Sustainability Product Council. Monika has over 25 years of experience spanning retail and entertainment, mix use, and urban regeneration projects delivered for local and international clients. A graduate of Warsaw Technical University and London Metropolitan University Monika delivered UK aviation projects for Pascal+Watson before joining CRTKL and focusing on a portfolio of healthcare, retail and mix use developments in the UK, Europe and Middle East. More recently Monika led a design studio at Benoy expanding her global experience to Central Asia and Africa. At Benoy Monika initiated and led the Environmental Design Community to promote knowledge sharing and sustainable design solution. She believes that by fostering creative collaboration and adopting a holistic approach to address the needs and aspirations of all stakeholders, the architects and masterplaners can create adaptable design solutions, valuable assets and happier and healthier communities.
