In order for donations from Germany to be tax-deductible, donations have to be made via the Maecenata Foundation (Maecenata Stiftung) which qualifies as a charitable (gemeinnützige) organisation that is entitled to issue tax-deductible donations receipts (Spendenbescheinigungen). Maecenata Foundation is the German partner in the European foundation network “Transnational Giving Europe” (TGE) which has been established to enable cross-border donations to be made in a tax-efficient manner for the donors. Maecenata Foundation will forward your donation to the ULI Charitable Trust and provides you with a donation receipt. Please note that for funding the TGE network of foundations, 5% of any donation amount will be withheld by TGE as a “Free Donation Share” (for donation amounts above EUR 100.000, the Free Donation Share goes down to 3%, 2% or 1%, depending on the relevant amount). – For further details please visit here.
