In a recent gathering led by Lars Huber, Chair of ULI Europe, he reflected on the dynamic evolution of the organisation. With the significant contributions of Young Leaders at the heart of this evolution, their enthusiasm for progress and innovation has reshaped the landscape of ULI and left a mark on the built environment sector.Lars Huber spoke about the transformative power exerted by Young Leaders at ULI, highlighting their insatiable appetite for knowledge, boundless energy, and remarkable ability to network as they embrace the benefits of their ULI membership. Their unwavering dedication has fuelled growth within ULI and spurred momentum that reverberates far beyond organisational boundaries.
Central to Lars’ message was the notion that ULI Europe stands as a matchless platform for Young Leaders, offering a myriad of opportunities for engagement and impact. Among these, Lars particularly emphasised the significance of the PropTech Innovation Challenge (PIC) as a shining example of Young Leaders spearheading innovation and driving change.
Referencing the need to harness the collective energy of Young Leader initiatives. Lisette van Doorn, CEO, ULI Europe then emphasised the pivotal role of growing membership across industries to enhance diversity and strengthen the influence of ULI, urging Young Leaders to raise their voices and champion initiatives aligned with ULI’s mission priorities.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for Lisette to highlight the transformative impact of the endeavours of Young Leaders through 2024, and to unveil ULI’s ambitious business plan for FY25 which has a steadfast commitment to catalysing transformative change within communities.
As chair of ULI Europe Young Leaders Group, I then brought the town hall to a close, outlining key initiatives for the coming years and celebrating the milestones achieved thus far.
Subsequently, several Young Leader Chairs from around Europe highlighted forthcoming activities including the dedicated programme planned for Europe Conference in Milan, PIC 2024, and the next series of the Vanguard Podcast, while also anticipating the publication of the next Emerging Trends in Real Estate report, a dedicated Young Leaders webinar, Sister Cities and the Young Leaders Autumn Study Tour.
