Dutch developer, AM, took advantage of ULI Europe’s Study Tours to explore one of Europe’s largest regeneration schemes at King’s Cross, London, on Friday 7 December 2018. The 67-acre site has a rich history and a unique setting. What was an underused industrial wasteland is being transformed into a new part of the city with homes, shops, offices, galleries, bars, restaurants, schools, and even a university.
Argent, which has led the redevelopment of the area, provided an overview of what has been achieved so far. The tour included visiting the most recent and innovative projects including Coal Drop Yards, the recently opened public space and retail destination, as well as the Gasholders residential building.
In addition to the exclusive tour, a discussion on the overall site around the King’s Cross model was led by Michel Mossessian of Mossessian Architecture, who has designed commercial offices at King’s Cross.
A further site tour of King’s Cross, around the theme of Creative and Knowledge-based Placemaking, is available as part of the ULI Europe Conference 2019. For more information, visit our conference programme.
