The ULI NEXT initiative supports the ULI mission by identifying, connecting, and elevating the next generation of leaders for the built environment and ULI globally. The group is made up of Associate or Full members between the ages of 35 and 45 who have exemplified leadership at work, and ideally within ULI.
The group’s aim is to enhance the value of ULI’s global resources and membership networks, and foster leadership opportunities within ULI, the real estate industry, and beyond. ULI NEXT will enable participants to further develop their leadership skills, build lasting relationships amongst peers, and have greater access to senior leaders within ULI.
ULI NEXT is currently expanding across Europe, and already has an active membership in the UK. The 15 members of the ULI UK NEXT steering committee gathered for the first time in December 2016 at a kick off meeting kindly hosted by Strutt & Parker in London. The group discussed its objectives for the local network and is developing a series of leadership-focused events for 2017. Additional groups are also being organised in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, and Turkey.
“ULI NEXT will provide valuable information and connections to move careers forward, give the next generation of leaders a louder voice within ULI and greater input into the future direction of the organisation, open up more opportunities for taking on leadership roles, and facilitate service to the real estate industry and local communities,” said Marcus Hale, a founding member of the initiative and a key player in establishing its network in Europe.
ULI NEXT will hold an event on 15 March in Cannes as part of ULI’s programme of activities at MIPIM 2017. Hosted by AEW and EuroDisney, the breakfast will feature remarks from Jaap L. Tonckens, Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board, Unibail-Rodamco.
