On 15th November, ULI UK Chairman, Andy Martin, hosted ULI Trustee, Joe Azrack, Chairman of Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance, Inc., and a group of young leader committee members for an intimate breakfast at Strutt & Parker to discuss the global property market and current trends.
The conversation covered the macro view of the global markets with opportunities in continental Europe and the USA, the increase of global net wealth, and the investment of global wealth into gateway cities. Other areas discussed included, transparency, rule of law, and tax clarity, which will all continue to support investment in the UK. The potential benefits of some of the differing investment approaches currently being used in the marketplace was highlighted as an area to learn from and the increase of urbanisation, new infrastructure and the intellectual capital (education and medical) driving regeneration in some areas was also discussed.
It was a great opportunity for the young leaders to interact in such an environment and to gain insight from a respected property expert (and possibly lend some perspective into the next generation of property leaders mind-sets!).
